Waste Oil / Our Innovation Technology
The research conducted by Oz Future Fuels Pty Ltd in the development of a waste oil refining and fuel blending plant, primarily uses the wasted resource of used engine oil. Dirty used engine oil is defined as engine lubricating oil that has been contaminated by impurities entering the oil and reducing the oils lubricating effect in the engine. Contamination and reduced lubricating properties are caused by chemical and physical reactions due to fuel dilution, products of combustion, component wear and water ingress.

Oz Future Fuels is at the forefront of technology in the area of onsite waste oil full cycle management processes. We are a unique innovative technology provider. Waste oil no longer needs to be collected and taken to large refineries or used as burner fuels. The geographic constraints of many mines and remote locations can make used oil collection very expensive. Stockpiles of used oil are an ongoing problem in all areas of Australia and our company has addressed this need with onsite technology.
The benefits of having an onsite waste oil recycling system are; environmental site management and reduced contamination of multiple sites. The financial benefits include reusing this resource as a fuel by recycling and reprocessing it back to a useable product. This refined product can be used at small percentage rates with diesel fuel and biofuel with our state of the art onsite blending facilities that adjust to meet varying viscosities. This process ensures waste oil collection, refining and blending is beneficial environmentally and economically.
